[describe photo 1]

I'm Coach Jason, founder of Axiom Aquatics and head coach of the Stonegate Seahawks in the Irvine Swim League. I've been in pools since I was a few months old and found competitive aquatics at Katella High School in Anaheim, first through water polo, then all in on swimming. That's 15 years in competitive aquatics and 9 years of coaching. I'm competitive to the core but personable on deck: I hold swimmers to a high standard and make sure every one of them feels known, heard and backed.

Every swimmer is evaluated skill by skill and tracked over time, with a clear map of what to master next, so progress is measured, not guessed. Nothing drives me more than watching kids build the character and confidence to push themselves. Outside the pool I study the mind and body and train my own, so I'm setting the right example in the pool, the training room and the books.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where are lessons held?

At your home or community pool anywhere in the Irvine area. I come to you. No pool? Ask and I’ll suggest a nearby option.

What days and times do you teach?

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. During the school year, lessons start at 4:30 pm. In summer (June 1 through ISL Championships in August) I coach the Stonegate Seahawks from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, so lesson times move outside that window. No lessons on Thursdays or weekends. Open times are always live on the booking page (opens in a new tab).

How long is a lesson, and what does it cost?

Book 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Lessons are $120/hour, billed by the minute: $60 for 30 minutes, $90 for 45. Prepaid packages save 10% (10 hours, $1,080) or 20% (20 hours, $1,920), and the hours never expire.

Do you teach group lessons?

Family lessons only: brothers and sisters from the same household, sharing one booking and one balance. I don’t mix swimmers from different families in one lesson.

Want a friend to join? Book them their own private lesson right before or after yours.

What ages and levels do you teach?

First-timers through competitive club and league swimmers. Little ones (3 and under) do best in short 20-minute bursts. Every swimmer is rated skill by skill, 1–5, so you see exactly what they’ve mastered and what’s next.

What's your cancellation policy?

It runs on the honor system. Life happens, and I won’t penalize a family for an emergency or illness they couldn’t avoid. All I ask is as much notice as you can give, so the slot can go to another swimmer.

What does my swimmer need to bring?

Required: a training swimsuit, goggles, a kickboard, fins and a towel. A swim cap is required if hair is long enough to cover the eyes or mouth while swimming. Recommended: a pull buoy.

What counts as a training swimsuit?
  • Boys: jammers or briefs, no board shorts.
  • Girls: a competitive one or two-piece, no fashion suits.

Loose suits create drag and hide the body position I’m correcting.

How do I pay?
